Herb Plants
Herbs are plants that have special qualities to them; some can heal. There is
no restriction in what a plant heals and how long it takes for the person to get
well. Herbs have been used in the treatment of many illnesses, like migraines;
Ginseng, Wood Betony,
Valeriana,
Chamomile among others are combined to sooth and revert the pain. Some herbs can
cure a sneeze, others cure life threatening ailments.
Herbs can also provide spice and flavor to a meal, in the beginning, many spices
were used in food to help digestion or prevent gases, then slowly they were
introduced to many other meals because of their taste or smell. Parsley is used
as a garnish, sage is also a very popular herb and combines well with chicken,
pork and fish. Mint gives a special freshness and flavor to meals, basil and
marjoram are also widely used.
Herbs are used in baths to soften the skin, to relax or rejuvenate. Rosemary has
beautifully scented oils and can produce a fragrant bath.
Other qualities are mind altering, and can change consciousness. Like in the
case of peyote, discovered by the west in the '60, produces hallucinations.
Herbs and plants are employed in magical transitions, and rituals of passage.
It's also common to give other properties to herbs, for example, Hyssop is used
in purification rituals and is said to cast away negative people. Pine is used
for having things go your way, prosperity; to conceive, as fertility has been
sought out through the ages. Also it's said to be used for overall health. Dill
will attract money and luck and Lavander used for love.
People can even be killed, and that's why not a single one should be taken
lightly, have respect of every herb.
Plants with such tremendous powers were considered holy, many cultures made the
use of herbs a priority. Unfortunately, today, science can't control everything
a herb contains, variations in doses of each plant because of growth, soil, sun,
water and other factors make it very hard to produce plats with exactly the same
properties. An isolated element, called the "active" ingredient can be
concentrated, condensed and sold as a pill, but a whole plant with tens of
hundreds of ingredients are just to difficult to control and determine. And so,
plants were dismissed and cast away, science does not like anything that cannot
be controlled.
Herb plants are a very good alternative to medicine, and when pills and
laboratories fail, herbs are becoming big winners, demonstrating effectiveness
where pills are unable. Thousands of people are turning to this alternative and
finding out they feel better and achieve a healthier lifestyle. People have
grown so fond of these herbs that they are harvesting their own house gardens.
